Graphic Novel

In the kingdom of Litty there exist myriads of fortified structures that tether underground metropolises through a conglomerate maze of living oceanic threads. They swirl and sprout above sea level to form lush land spaces with endless forests and jungles and mountains, ridges and ledges and vistas as far as your mind can reach. The trees reach up and up; one particular patch have grown taller than anyone has lived long enough to discover a summit. Each piece of our planet arranged to unite all other embankments to its core. This bonded compound is how the creatures of our universe commune, commute, and survive. There is only one unbendable rule here: Once you leave Litty, you can never come back. The only portal out is a black hole vortex exit with suction so fierce - if you attempt resistance, it rips your flesh off and scatters your bones. We are free to roam and frolic with the condition that we wear these weighted ankle cuffs. They ensure we are safely anchored here using a magnetized cut from the terrestrial core.
Back when my family first touched down, these lands were divided; barricaded by obstructions between atmospheres. When the last of the fossil fuel vapors burned up on Earth, humans didn’t know that by utilizing solar power - they drew potency from the star known as the Sun and one day it just collapsed to ash. My name is Litos and my kind arrived here on a drifting phantom orb that flaked from the soot of that Sun speck some 3.5 trillion cycles ago. It is my responsibility to ensure protection for sacred entities to travel amongst our tunnels and continue to allow unrestricted access to all beings. Seemingly easy right? Not quite. You see, evil lurks in the souls of some. I would know. I am cursed with the dreaded thirst. I simply cannot stray from the waters of our coast. This burden is mine and mine alone. Once the thirst takes over, I am blinded with the urge to consume. I devour everything on my quest back to the deep.
They say I should be destroyed. But I am the only one in this damn bubble that can effectively perform my required mission. You could say the thirst has its advantages…
